World Autism Awareness Day Being Celebrated Today

Kathmandu—World Autism Awareness Day is being celebrated globally today with various programs aimed at raising awareness about this condition. The United Nations started celebrating this day in 2007.

The day is celebrated with the belief that all sections of society must contribute to ensuring the human rights and fundamental freedoms of individuals with autism. UN Secretary-General António Guterres has emphasized that this day is crucial for achieving sustainable development goals and fulfilling health-related commitments.

In his message on the occasion, he stressed the need to provide individuals with autism access to healthcare, education, and employment opportunities.
