Minister Paudel’s Active Role in Implementing the Health Budget

Kathmandu— Minister for Health and Population Pradip Paudel has been actively working to ensure the timely utilization of the health budget. Summoning various divisions and centers under the ministry, Minister Paudel has instructed them to maximize progress within the remaining time of the fiscal year.

Holding regular meetings to monitor the ministry’s progress, Minister Paudel has been pushing the bureaucratic system to deliver the best possible outcomes by the end of the fiscal year. He has been providing necessary support based on the progress reports of different divisions and centers. On Tuesday, he urged departments with weaker progress to align their work with set targets.

‘Budget cuts from donor agencies are a common challenge,’ Minister Paudel stated. ‘Anyone can highlight problems, but we must focus on maximizing available resources and finding solutions.’

Minister Paudel urged departmental heads to actively work in the remaining months to achieve the highest possible results in budget implementation.

‘We have resources, but implementation has not matched our expectations. ‘Let’s review the situation,’ he said. ‘With only four months left, ensure the full utilization of the budget and deliver impactful results.’

Emphasizing the need for innovation in execution, Minister Paudel encouraged officials to embrace new approaches. ‘If policy reforms are necessary to make your work more effective, let us know,’ he assured. ‘We will make every effort to facilitate the required changes.’

Acknowledging the challenges posed by donor budget cuts, Minister Paudel reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing alternative solutions for essential health programs.
